Dancing in Rain

By King Sidharth
It rained, from heaven! Yay! I manifested rain. Sweating without electricity in hot summer was regular thing. I remember that 3 days ago i went to my rooftop and with naked feet on burning roof i stretched out my hands in sun. I thanked universe for the rain. I felt the water touching my feet, raindrops falling on my face, water flowing down on my body. The cool blow of wind. I thanked for all this and finally after 3 days it was manifested.
I will fail not to mention Jigyasa’s efforts ‘Rain rain come again but the thing is that it focuses on lack of rain. It says that there is no rain. But I appreciate our efforts which brought rain. Weather forecasts may say it was no miracle, though according to Indian Govt. It will rain after 15 July. But I choose to believe it was manifested with all the prayers we did.
I cannot share with you the precious raindrops, or photographs or anything that you can touch. But I have feelings to share, let me tell you that it rained from heaven. Blessings, Joy and Smiles rained along with water. It rained that I was dancing, I was dancing as if no one was watching me and even if they were; I don’t care! Let them see and be jealous of my childhood. I danced in thunder and rain and was smiling so wide that I could eat banana sideways. That was the joy. This is kind of personal but I will tell you a part of what i whispered to rain. I told rain that today I am not afraid of clouds running dry before i stepped out in rain. I knew there is abundance in universe. I told rain that i do not want to posses her for I cannot and no possession gives so much pleasure and desire. I told rain that we are one, and then. I saw raindrop falling from sky and falling on someone’s wide smile. Giving life to a seed and spreading joy.
Then there was a long conversation between me and God, there is no word in any tongue that we speak on earth that can express the feeling of gratitude for wonderful experience that I am being given. What more can I ask for? Blessing it with all the love in my heart and expressing gratitude for everything is best I can do.
Here I share with you the joy for sharing it makes it grow (yeah I am greedy there). For it is meant to be shared. First shower of season I danced in, what can you expect from a season which beings with dancing with joy? Happy monsoon!

My love…..believe in me
I’ll make you see a word where you’ve never been
My love….. Believe in me
I’ll make you feel the magic of heaven’s feel
From the sky above I’ll bring you the stars
From the valley below I’ll bring you the flowers

From the mountains high I’ll show you the sight
Where I’ll paint the sky red with love
Show you my heart glowing superb
Where I’ll make the sun bend for you
Even the moon will shine only for you
Where I’ll make all stars twinkle for you
Gust of my love passing through you
Where everything you want, will be
My love…..believe in me
I’ll make all your dreams come true
I’ll not let anything turn us blue
I’ll love you more with each heart beat and breath
I’ll keep your trust and will be your hope like a friend
I’ll be your shadow in the sun
I’ll make sure whatever you say is done
I’ll take you to a world where it’s only you and me
My love…..once believe in me
I’ll cry to make you smile
I’ll run for you thousands of miles
I’ll bear the pain to make you feel alright
I’ll wake to make you sleep whole night
I’ll share you problems, release you from the grief’s
I’ll steal sorrows from your heart like a thief
Nothing but happiness in your life will be
My love…..please believe in me
I’ll never let that glow from your eyes to go
I’ll never let sadness on your face to grow
I’ll never keep my presence unfelt around you
I’ll always hold you whatever I may go through
I’ll never let you cry, all your tears I’ll dry
I’ll always take care of you, even if I die
My life, my soul, all belongs to thee
I love you my love, believe in me!

A Date With God- Excerpts

By Javed Khan Via NCR
I was trying my level best but my grades were taking a new low everytime. My relationships were also soaring with everyone, one after the other, at a rate of three persons per day! My physique was already like a bamboo used in marriage tents and in here too, my hunger took a backseat making my stomach have a go at meeting my back. Overall it was appearing as if I have been asked by God to absorb the glooms of everyone here in this world by adding them up into my profile of life. Days went by and got converted into weeks but I was still the same. I was living my life as if I was being forced to do so with no personal interest for the same. At the same time, there was no dearth of cursing God from my side. And why should there be? He was the one who was gifting me literally every brand of sorrows, all at a same time.
One night, before going to bed, I was as usual practicing my talent of cursing God in which, according to me, I had achieved great perfection and expertise. Once that 'ritual' was over, I surrendered myself to the God of slumber. Thereon started my date with God. A very well decorated table containing infinite cuisine was the first thing I noticed and the second being two unique chairs beside the table each at its opposite ends. And then I saw God standing in front me. As far as the question of how He was is concerned, then let me tell you there is no creature in this world who could have used his/her wits to describe what I witnessed and I am also one of His creature, so the same goes for me. Here are the excerpts of what we talked about and How my faith in Him and all His twists and tales that He inducts into our lives got reinstated and that too, with an even more solid belief.
God- Come here son and have a seat.
Me- Who are you?
God- You curse someone daily. I am that lucky one.
Me- So you are The God, eh?
God- Yes, I am.
Me- What you doing with me in here?
God- I am here to listen to your problems. You don't have much of time. So better start off as quickly as you can.
Me- Yes, I have got one simple question for you. Why are you freaking me out? You have taken everything from me in the last one month. Why me?
God- Did I? Well, come onto the point. Who do you think I have taken from you, everyone or just her?
Me- Why asking when you already know all?
God- Ellaborate all what you thought about her, why you fell for her and how am I involved in all this. Ellaborate all in short.
Me- Now what was that? How am I supposed to 'ellaborate' something in short?
God- Don't waste time checking my english. Utilize this opportunity.
Me- Ok. I used to talk to her over the internet as we were far apart. It went on for over four years. Later I found that she was the one for me. I used to feel good talking to her. And I was seriously in love with her. But one day, I proposed to her and she refused. From that very day, life was never the same. I drifted apart from everyone.
God- How you got to know she was the one for you? I suppose I didn't tell you that or did I?
Me- Don't joke with me. She used to show concern for me and she used to like me too. Whenever I was sad, she was virtually there to cheer me up because of distance constraint. What else do I take out from this?
God- Don't you show concern for your female friends? Does that mean they should fall for you or vice versa?
Me- What do you mean?
God- I mean, she was your friend. Thats why she was wary of you. Atleast thats what she thought while helping you out. And you were fool enough to take it for love. Now tell me son, is it my fault or her fault that you fell for her?
Me- But why did she refuse? I loved her so much. She did everything to make me hate her but I just couldn't. Doesn't that depict my genuineness for her?
God- It does but how can you force your love upon her? If you love her, just keep on doing it. Why is her nod so important for you? I don't expect my creatures to love me so that, in turn, I can love them. I love them just because they are mine. Take, for instance, your case. You didn't leave any foul word to curse me with but I still love you. In your terms, should I leave you on your own terms because you don't believe on me and don't care for me?
Me- You don't know what sort of words she used when I was up to persuade her decision. They are stuck on my mind and my heart. What to do with them?
God- She said something and it stuck to you. And you still maintain you love her? Is this the limit of your love? Dear son, love is in tolerance, love lies in making others happy, love lies in being genuine to oneself. Love is not about getting, its about giving. So now tell me, did you love her? You didn't hurt just her, you hurt your ownself, you hurt her faith that she had on you as a friend, you hurt the faith of all other friends of yours with whom you are not on talking terms from last month or so just because of your own frustration, you hurt me. Now if you have even a bit of sense left in you, then go back to your life and apologize for everything you have done this far in last one month i.e. to that girl and rebuild friendship with her, then to all of your friends and then, last but not the least, start loving yourself. Have a nice life ahead.
The next moment I felt something, it was a cap of pen that was lying beneath my back on my bed. I woke up from slumber, took time to realize what I witnessed and thereafter, life was never the same for me.
Happiness lies within oneself, we can't search it elsewhere. I realized this after this encounter.

The Ad World-Good or Bad?

(By Students of John Martyn Memorial School)
By Rahul Das, (V)
Watching advertisements is important for information.
1. People come to know about the latest products which are available in the market. They can make a choice of the product, from the wide variety available in the market, according to the price.
2. We come to know about new companies which have been formed.
3. The success of the Pulse Polio Programme goes to the advertising done. People saw the ad which had the super star Amitabh Bachhan telling people about the polio vaccine. The credit for the success of this advertisement should go to the star.
4. We are informed about many other diseases like AIDS, swine flu, through ads.
5. Advertisements like ‘Jago grahak jago’ informed people about the necessity of saving water. Advertising informs us about many other environmental related issues.

The madcap world of advertisements

By Aishwarya Sharma, (XII), CJM
Glamour, materialism, technology, advancement, avarice, expansion, innovation, cut- throat competition, an incessant struggle for money, power, and achievement;
This is the 21st century with its fast changing dimensions. With a revolution in science and technology, our needs and requirements have increased. What used to be a luxury before is now a necessity for the people. Our lifestyle has changed dramatically over the last few years. With rapid growth and modernization, we have started earning more and there is a sudden change in our viewpoint towards life. India is emerging as an economic superpower with a phenomenal increase in its gross domestic product. The rapidly developed and enhanced media has dominated the television sets all over the contemporary Indian households. The majestic world of television has enamoured not only the urban households but also the rural ones. Therefore, now the big companies and firms are heading towards the television and are using it as a weapon to lure the common masses for their respective products.
Today we have every little product being launched and its advertisements spread like wild fire across every television channel. Be it toothpaste, beverages, fairness creams, anti- ageing creams, shampoos, hair removal creams, or even restaurants, sports shoes, and even lingerie! Everything is advertised on the idiot box.
Industrial giants are hiring big stars like film actors, sports personalities, models, and many such famous people for endorsing their products. But what is actually their method of propagating their products? Well, everything is so superfluously artificial in these advertisements but even then, our common masses fall into the trap of these companies.
I quote a famous line from Shakespeare’s play, Julius Caesar, that talks of betrayal by the means of swaying animals just the way these companies betray the masses.
"Unicorns may be betray’d with trees, and bears with glasses, elephants with holes, lions with toils, and men with flatterers." Recently, a teenage girl had committed suicide because of inferiority complex due to her dark complexion. She had seen an advertisement of a fairness cream on television that claimed to be effective within six weeks. It also showed an extraordinarily dark model suddenly turn into a snow white with flawless skin and exceptionally fair complexion. Due to her failure to attain that junction, she ended her life.
Another such advertisement caused a young girl to go into depression. She witnessed an advertisement of a shampoo and a hair potion on television and not achieving the desired and claimed results, lead to her depression.
Attractive advertisements of television personalities endorsing cigarettes caused a group of young boys to start smoking. These people were checked by an activist working for this cause and were made to realize the ill effects of smoking.
All these examples are just a little part of the whole story. The influence of these "creative visualizations" has lead to thousands of severe incidents in the country. Young people are the mirror of the future of this nation. We need to take positive measures to inspire this generation to serve their country and take it to glory rather than mislead them to such an extent that they start losing their confidence and engage in anti social activities.

Today's Youth has speed but no direction!!

By Milan Joshi,XII, CJM

Two people look out of the window, one sees stars and the other sees bars;
Stars or bars, the choice is ours….
Last month, I heard two friends talking, "I’m joining the Lakshya Institute" and when asked why, she answered, "My best friend goes there and the institute will help me finish my syllabus quickly. So that I can have fun for the rest of my time"
Do you think this girl knows what she has to do in her life? Do you think she has a direction in her life? Do you think she has a goal to accomplish??
A famous quote says,
"Jack of all trades but master of none"
Today’s students lose out either under peer pressure or just a mere experiment- whether they can do a particular subject…
Do you think these students actually know what they have to do in order to achieve success??
Though good at something else, they will choose other difficult things which will barely be able to be managed by them. Same is the case with sports. Today, one is playing basketball, tomorrow, he/she might want to play cricket, and then after one month, he/she joins the football club. But will this lead him/her to any of the particular sports field??
A teenager might want fame, may want to be successful, and may do anything to attain it but when this urge is not channelized in the correct direction, what use is it??
A student after passing class X from science background with an average 70% might select sciences again in class XI. He may even finish his course on time, but when asked by someone what he has to achieve after passing class XII, he may probably say things like let’s see maybe medicine or engineering. And if I land up nowhere, I might switch over to commerce, there’s a lot of scope in commerce. [By the way, where did this scope go while he was selecting his subjects in the first place???]
A popular Indian magazine states that out of the thousands of students applying in for only a mere proportion goes in for further studies probably because they’re happy with the DU stamp on their pass certificates and are boastful of being DU students. What kind of goals do these students have???
we know of cases when girls of 19 or 20 years get married even before completing their education, without offence, it is my personal opinion that they just sit idly at home enjoying luxuries without having definite goals in life.
Let’s just realize our goals and move in meaningful directions, let’s not just look at our speedometers while missing out all our directions!!
