Newspapers! Our morning begins by quickly reading the headlines and running off to school and then reading the paper again before going to bed. Each one finds material to his taste in the newspaper.
Businessmen find the pages listing share prices & wholesale rates; politicians get the news of their nation and of foreign countries; a common man learns about politics and the happenings around the world. Students interested in science learn about the researches, those interested in sports eagerly go through the sports news. Job seekers read the wanted columns and people express their views through the ‘Letters to the Editor’ columns.
We at John Martyn eagerly await the paper on Friday as ‘We the Kids’ is printed with the Garhwal Post on that day. It prints our essays, stories and the pictures drawn by us children. Seeing our names printed has encouraged us to write more and more. This has improved our English. We are very thankful and grateful to the paper. We wish you many happy returns of the day for your 50th issue.
