TEEJ CELEBRATIONS

On teej day my mother’s hands look very pretty as she applies ‘mehndi’, wears new glass bangles and new clothes. When I return home from school, my mother serves me a tasty meal and gets ready to visit her mother. I too copy my mother and apply ‘mehndi’ on my hands. My mother tells me teej is a celebration in which women dress up in new saris and play on the swings.
